Nike FC Presents: Extra Time
I had my hand in quite a few writing projects for Nike during World Cup ‘22, but one that stands out is writing scripts for a series of short video clips called Extra Time. The goal was to help drive distinction between the three Generation Pack boots featured on pitch during the World Cup—Tiempo, Phantom, and Mercurial. It was my first big project working with Nike Football, and also with my narrative director, Justin Abbott, who taught me quite a bit about precision and clarity within a playful narrative framework.
I helped develop the name and concept for the series, write scripts for the two young YouTube stars and football fans, and interview boot designers, all with an eye toward balancing info and energy in service of the larger World Cup brand narrative.
