The Nike Hi-Five
Making emails fun again! One of the highlights of my writing career so far was getting to work with writing director, Dan Rookwood. We worked together for about a year, and have a fun things to show for it. Let’s focus on just one, the Nike Hi-Five, a weekly email round-up to Nike Members. Why? Because I haven’t featured an email campaign in this portfolio yet.
I helped name and develop the proper TOV for Nike’s newsletter, another extension of our new Membership voice. I guess what I’m most proud of here is developing the quiz concept as a response to a problem brought to us by the brand team: consumers aren’t reading through to the bottom of the email. I figured that if you posed a quiz question up top, or in the middle of the thread, you could entice them to scroll. And it seems to work. I got to come up with several Nike-related quiz questions with the help of Nike DNA.
The quiz solution has since been adopted in a few other app thread series, including Nike FC’s Group Chat series, which I helped out on.
